AUDIO COMPOSITIONS  This category is intended to put maximum emphasis on the sound.  It was initially conceived to encourage improvement in my own keyboard improvisation, but quickly expanded to using multi virtual instruments, usually recorded in the Ableton Live Digital Audio Workstation.  All audio creations are accompanied by video animation.

AN AI FANTASY BY THE SHORE  An Audio-Visual fantasy assisted by Generative AI.  What keyboard player would not prefer to be playing their virtual orchestra on a Caribbean beach.  Freeform keyboard improvisation in the "Smooth Chill" synthesiser style matches the visuals.  The full length version, explaining how the visuals were made, is on the Audio-Visual main page.

AN IMPROVISATION IN THE STYLE OF TOMITA  An Audio-Visual sequence, performed as an improvisation on virtual VST instruments (Piano, Choir and Lead Synth) triggered from a midi keyboard.  This celebrates the synthesizer sounds of the late Isao Tomita, including phrases from his interpretations of the classics  Clair De Lune and Prelude to the afternoon of a Faun.  The beauty of the NASA Hubble telescope images match the emotional sounds of the Master. 
 

THE TRIO  An Audio-Visual sequence of a piano trio using virtual instrumentation and simple computer graphics.
THE QUINTET  An Audio-Visual sequence featuring the jazz saxophone, with the music played on a midi keyboard driving virtual instruments for lead and backing. Visuals include archived pictures of the best of these instrumentalists.

THE ORCHESTRA  An Audio-Visual sequence presenting an original music composition in a "classical" form, using the Spitfire Audio virtual instruments sampling the sections of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Visuals include Photo-shopped processed video from the London Symphony Orchestra, synchronised to the composition.

 

THE ROCK BAND  An Audio-Visual Sequence, featuring a Virtual Rock Band iClone7 animation, to a Digital Audio Workstation created soundtrack with some original composition plus short midi covers of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Queen.

NAPC ROCK GOES MJQ  An animation of the NAPC Rock Band avatars playing "The Modern Jazz Quartet".

NAPC ROCK GOES "THE BEATLES"  An animation of the NAPC Rock Band avatars playing "The Beatles" - She Loves You - mixed with original footage.
 

NAPC SPICE  An Audio-Visual sequence, featuring a number of members of the Newton Abbot Photographic Club performing in their animated avatar personas as the Spice Girls.
